Denis van Olst Trust
In conjunction with the Pretoria Eye Institute, proceeds from the trust are used to operate on under-privileged children with strabismus (strabismus refers to a condition of the misalignment or squint of the eyes.) The surgery will permanently improve the children’s vision and quality of life.

HIP2B² equips school learners with vital life skills such as analytical thinking, problem-solving, a love of learning and a curious mindset. HIP2B² is a unique initiative that sparks curiosity in Maths, Science and technology related subjects to develop entrepreneurial thinking and skills.
The HIP2B² iTHINK Challenge is an energetic event that places teams from schools all over South Africa in a nail-biting race consisting of tasks, challenges and riddles testing learners’ knowledge and ability in Maths and Science-based activities.

Youth Zone was established by the Foundation for a Safe South Africa to ensure youths have positive choices as alternative to getting involved in negative social behaviour. A network of 36 rural communities across all the South African provinces where youth at risk assist each other to learn and grow. The focus is on using sport as platform to learn computer literacy, life-skills and enterprise development. The model consists of young leaders (role-models) changing themselves by reaching out to the younger kids in their communities and sharing their experience in a wider network.

My Life is a lifestyle orientation programme aimed at girls in grades 8, 9, and 10. The programme builds over three years to ensure deep assimilation of the key concepts and real lifestyle changes. It is hoped that the My life programme will make a dramatic impact on the lives of countless thousands of young girls and through this process that they will dream beyond the impossible, find their place of most potential and make their lives count.

King Pie supports a crime watch initiative called TSHINAVHE. This group of 30 men patrol the traffic lights on London Road in Johannesburg. They ensure motorists feel safe stopping at the traffic lights in the mornings and afternoons. These men are volunteers from the community and their aim is to reduce crime.

King Pie supports The Sunflower Fund and their great cause.
The special bandanas were given to our factory staff in Somerset West and Midrand
in memory of Denis van Olst who lost his battle with cancer.
King Pie supports the Lebone Crèche who look after 75 children. We built two Wendy Houses to ensure the children have shelter during the hot summer months and to keep warm in winter. King Pie strives to make a permanent difference in the lives of our youth!
